Lorne G. Adams (LA) was a US Airforce Veteran who lived a life of service and love for all mankind. He was a mentor, a confidant, a coach, a valued part of our team at Bartender on Board, and most of all, a friend. With his untimely passing, we want to ensure that the values he lived by will be passed onto future generations of bartenders. The Lorne G. Adams Memorial Scholarship, Certification & Internship Program was founded to honor the life and work of its namesake. We are excited to award 2 recipients this scholarship bi-annually.
The scholarship recipients will be awarded full tuition costs paid directly to the South Atlanta Bar School in Riverdale, GA, where they will be enrolled as a student in the Premier Level Bartenders License & Certification Program. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will transition into an Internship with Bartender On Board. Awardees must agree to complete 20 hours of service or 5 events.
In continuing Lorne’s commitment to community, and in honor to his service to our country, US Military Veterans, Individuals facing Socio-Economic challenges/hardship(s); and/or Young Adults transitioning out of the Foster Care system will be given special consideration in the application process. However, we invite and encourage all qualified persons to apply.
Bartender On Board and the South Atlanta Bar School do not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of their activities or operations.
We are sure that this scholarship will provide not only the monetary expenses to cover tuition, but also certification and invaluable training, with rewarding technical and real life experiences that will last a lifetime!
